Abstract:

For Transparency International (TI) the London Anti-Corruption Summit, which took place on May 12, 2016, provided a unique opportunity for global leaders to adopt concrete, ambitious commitments that can be implemented over five years following its completion. This briefing sets out what are in TI's view some of the most important specific actions and agreements needed for a successful Summit. The Summit was also expected to put forward additional initiatives that may help ensure that a comprehensive approach is taken to tackling corruption, with a particular focus on preventing corruption; ending impunity for those who benefit from corrupt acts, and; empowering and supporting citizens to report corruption.
