Creating a sustainable business environment through anti-corruption activities in Nigeria
Goals
The Building Trust through Public-Private Dialogue on Anti-Corruption project sought to create a sustainable business environment through anti-corruption activities. It’s main objectives were to:
- Build alliances of like-minded business and public officials with the aim of creating a platform for collaboration and capacity building;
- Mobilise stakeholders in business and government through the use of policy advocacy, seminars, workshops and training programmes to create awareness and buy-in.

The project was led by the Global Compact Network Nigeria.
Activities
The initiative has thus far achieved several accomplishments, including:
- increased dialogue between key actors in the oil and gas industry, one of Nigeria’s largest industry sectors, on issues of fraud and corruption;
- raised awareness on the corruption problematic in the country and on the specific issues pertaining to how to eliminate corruption in procurement processes;
- engaged a significant number of SMEs in joint dialogue.
