Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) Common Industry Standards

Mission

Develop common anti-corruption standards to be applied across Europe in the aerospace and defence industry

Goals

This initiative provides principles and guidelines to its members to help in the prevention of corruption in day-to-day business. The goal of this initiative is to develop common anti-corruption standards to be applied across Europe in the aerospace and defence industry. These standards are a set of business ethics requirements that assist European companies in implementing integrity programmes.

Stakeholders

The initiative is led by the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD).

Activities

Five years before the UK instigated the Bribery Act, the Common Industry Standards, anticipated the concept of 'Adequate Procedures' prevention measures stated by the UK Guidance. In addition to The Common Industry Standards a dedicated ‘toolkit' is available to fulfil SME needs. Over 400 companies signed these standards in 2007. European national associations have promoted these guidelines to their local companies. The standards are regularly updated to meet new regulations or requirements.
