Collective Action for Integrity in Quebec's Construction Industry

Mission

Help construction companies in Quebec demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity

Goals

The ACQ Integrity Program was developed in particular to address the lack of trust of the public and project owners in the construction industry in Quebec. This initiative is designed to help construction companies in Quebec to demonstrate their ethical business practices and integrity, while being part of an anti-corruption Collective Action initiative.

Stakeholders

The initiative is led by the Association de la Construction du Québec (ACQ).

Activities

The Integrity Program was developed taking into account existing models of Collective Action around the world, the specificities of ACQ member construction companies and, finally, the opinions expressed by contractors and the public.

The Integrity Program meets the industry's expectations in terms of integrity and constitutes a sustainable and effective solution for construction contractors who wish to implement honest and ethical management policies.

For the ACQ, a solution was needed that was restrictive enough to be credible to the public, but flexible enough to be applicable to all companies in the industry. The Program allows implementing companies to display their good governance practices by implementing various management tools such as ethical risk management grids, ethics training provided by experts, and various transparent accountability mechanisms. To support them in implementing the Program, companies can count on the support service set up by the ACQ.
