Promotion and Adoption of Responsible Business Practices in India
Mission
Enable companies to adopt responsible business practices in India
Goals
The goal of the project was to sensitise, capacitate, and help large companies adopt responsible business practices and influence their supply chains, as well as involve local stakeholders and governmental agencies to create awareness.
The project aimed at increasing awareness of existing anti-corruption laws and regulations and promoting responsible business practices that were sustainable and replicable.
Stakeholders
The project was implmented by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with funding from the Siemens Integrity Initiative.
Activities
Strong law enforcement and a zero-tolerance approach toward unethical business practices were identified as the most effective ways to combat corruption. Since the global environment was rapidly changing, it was anticipated that Indian regulations would eventually align with internationally acceptable ethical business practices and anti-corruption laws.
