Mission

Promote a culture of integrity in public procurement in the energy and health-care sectors in Colombia

Goals

The Hacia La Integridad / On the Level project aimed to strengthen the development and implementation of measures addressing corruption in Colombia. It's main objectives were to:

  • Raise compliance standards;
  • Promote a preventative approach to combating corruption;
  • Strengthen the anti-corruption legal framework in Colombia; and
  • Identify and disseminate good practices in transparency, ethics and integrity.

Stakeholders

The project was implemented by the UNODC field office in Colombia with funding from the Siemens Integrity Initiative

Activities

During Phase I, the project focsed on reducing opportunities for corruption through improved dialogue between the public and private sectors, a better anti-corruption legal framework and the promotion of a culture of integrity in the private sector.

Phase II of the project was focused on promoting a culture of legality in public procurement in the energy and health sectors in Colombia as a mechanism to prevent and combat corruption.
