Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC)
Mission
Promote good governance and fight corruption in Ghana
Goals
The Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) GACC promotes anti-corruption efforts and integrity through sustained and effective coordination of state and non-state actors, strategic partnerships and the mobiliation of citizens and citizen groups.
Stakeholders
GACC is a unique cross-sectoral grouping of public, private and civil society organisations (CSOs). GACC has been registered as a legal entity since 2001.
Activities
GACC has over the years built the capacity of CSOs on anti-corruption and whistleblowing nationwide. It has mobilised grassroots to demand accountability from duty bearers nationwide through the formation of Local Accountability Networks (LANets) and has advocated and lobbied for the passage and amendment of critical anti-corruption legislation, such as the Whistleblower Act of 2006 and the Public Financial Management Regulatios of 2019.
The organisation has also developed indicators for monitoring corruption in Ghana, built media capacity and formed the Network for Journalists Against Corruption (JAC), in addition to coordinating the Business Action Against Corruption Network (BAAC) and Business Integrity Forum (BIF) in Ghana for businesses to build self-monitoring mechanisms to promote business integrity.
