Scaling up Anti-Corruption Collective Action within Global Compact Local Networks

Mission

Promote public-private cooperation in the fight against corruption

Goals

Scaling up Anti-Corruption Collective Action within Global Compact Local Networks (GCLN) was a four-year project aimed at supporting Collective Actions from Global Compact Local Networks and promoting public-private cooperation in fighting corruption. The project sought to:

  • Mainstream Collective Action and enhance its understanding and implementation locally.
  • Mobilize multi-stakeholder efforts to identify and develop plans to address corruption challenges within a country or sector.
  • Engage with governments and other stakeholders to enhance public-private cooperation in fighting corruption.

Stakeholders

The project was led by the United Nations Global Compact with funding from the Siemens Integrity Initiative.

Activities

The project adopted a three-pronged approach:

  1. Development of the Anti-Corruption Collective Action Playbook: Created to mainstream the understanding and uptake of Collective Action.
  2. Global Launch and Roll-out: Introduced the Playbook globally to enable GCLNs to understand and use the Collective Action methodology to identify and address corruption issues.
  3. Support for selected local networks: Provided targeted assistance to GCLNs in their Collective Action initiatives.
