Trakia Highway Integrity Pact

Mission

Conduct civic monitoring of a public works tender and contract execution

Activities

The Trakia Highway project was the first project for which Transparency International Bulgaria signed an agreement with a Bulgarian contracting authority for the civic monitoring of a public works tender and contract execution.

The experience helped inform Transparency International Bulgaria 's civic monitoring process and is seen as the precursor to the development of Integrity Pacts in Bulgaria. This also resulted in the publication of a report with the results of their monitoring and systemic recommendations for improving public contracting.
