Professionals against Corruption (PaC)

Tackle corruption by promoting integrity, transparency and accountability through research, exploring innovative solutions and new technologies

The primary focus of the Professionals against Corruption (PaC) group is to tackle corruption by promoting integrity, transparency and accountability through research, exploring innovative solutions and new technologies.

PaC was formed in 2016 after the London Global Anti-Corruption summit to enable signatories of firms to work together cross-sectorally.

In April 2018, the collaboration between PaC and the IBE was launched, providing a secretariat and advice as well as bringing the wider benefits of IBE’s work to PaC’s members.

The PaC Steering Group coordinates the activities and it is formed by the designated leads of the working groups. Separate working groups cover specific issues.

Participation in the group is limited to law firms, accounting firms and real estate firms. Participation in this group is limited to IBE supporters as one of the reasons for the group is to build trust among participants. Under exceptional circumstances, the group can unanimously agree to invite a non-IBE supporter to one of its meetings. Expertise is called in from other sectors on a case-by-case basis.

Private sector members include: Ashurst; BDO, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Linklaters, Norton Rose Fulbright, PwC, Savills and White & Case.

The forum facilitates a means of sharing best practice and intends to provide a collaborative working environment. The group considers the societal view on issues affecting the sector and contribute to the ‘business in society’ debate. The group also considers areas where regulation is currently weak or lagging behind expectations concerning the prevention of corruption in the professions.

The Steering Group meets a minimum of three times a year. The IBE’s Director is also a member of PaC’s Steering Group. All members meetings are held a minimum of two times a year.
