Mission

Identify and implement a set of activities to strengthen transparency and institutional integrity in the Dominican Republic

Goals

The Iniciativa Participativa Anti-Corrupcion (IPAC, Participatory Initiative Against Corruption) was launched in 2010 with the objective of creating an open government strategy focused on strengthening transparency and institutional integrity, thus reducing the risk of corruption in the Dominican Republic.

Stakeholders

The Central Organizing Committee of IPAC was composed of representatives of the National Government, civil society and the private sector along with international donors such as the World Bank and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Activities

The initiative conducted several political meetings with representatives of civil society, government and industry grouped around ten roundtables that were organized thematically (public tenders, public services, information management, infrastructure, health, education, energy, water and public supervisory bodies). The meetings produced 30 recommendations for the reduction of corruption and the promotion of a more transparent government in their respective fields.
