Transparency 100% Movement

Mission

Encourage and enable Brazilian companies to go beyond their legal obligations to strengthen transparency and integrity mechanisms

Goals

The Transparency 100% Movement is a call on Brazilian companies to recognize the urgent need to promote integrity, anti-corruption efforts and corporate governance. The Movement aims to encourage and enable companies to go beyond their legal obligations to strengthen transparency and integrity mechanisms.

By engaging senior leadership, offering capacity-building initiatives and providing permanent monitoring, the Movement seeks to help companies become more resilient to corruption, influence the market and stakeholders and improve private sector integrity. It is the most ambitious transparency movement in the country.

All committed Brazilian companies are encouraged to commit to 5 ambitious goals to be fulfilled until 2030:

  • 100% transparency on the interactions with Public Administration.
  • 100% integrity in the remuneration of high-level executives.
  • 100% of the high-risk supply chain trained on integrity.
  • 100% transparency on the company´s structure of governance and compliance.
  • 100% transparency on the whistleblower channels.

Stakeholders

At the start of 2025, 70 companies were part of the Transparency 100% Movement, reaching more than 50,000 employees. Companies of different sizes, including the country’s biggest companies as well as SMEs are jointly committed to common goals. In addition, several civil society organizations support the Movement, such as Transparency International Brazil.

An expert Advisory Council was constituted to guide the initiative that also includes representatives of the Office of the Comptroller General in Brazil (CGU). The Ministry of Agriculture in Brazil selected the Movement as a criterion for companies to apply for its national sectorial integrity award.

The initiative is facilitated by the Global Compact Network Brazil.

Activities

Annually, the Movement offers a 5-month Knowledge Journey to all committed companies. Detailed information on each of the Movement’s goals is discussed with experts and companies are invited to share best practices and challenges in each of the targets.

Every year, the companies conduct a self-assessment to determine their level of maturity on each of the five targets. The self-assessment also helps the Global Compact Network Brazil to understand the overall level of maturity of companies and track improvements.

At the end of the year, the Movement promoted a Best Practice Awards to recognize three best practices on each of its five goals. The awarded company’s best practices were published in the first Best Practice guide available on the Movement’s website.

In 2024, the Transparency 100% Movement received the Collective Action Inspirational Newcomer 2024” award from the Basel Institute on Governance.
