Portuguese Platform for Integrity

Mission

Business integrity collective action. Strategic development of projects and initiatives with an effective impact on society and further exploration of issues relating to integrity, transparency, ethics, and governance through associated organizations.

Goals

Promoting a culture of integrity and combating corruption in all its forms is the Tenth Principle of the United Nations Global Compact and one of the goals of SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions of the UN’s 2030 Agenda.

This goal presupposes the creation of a more sustainable and transparent global economy, notably through a significant reduction in illegal flows of money and arms, a substantial reduction in corruption and bribery in all its forms, and the development of effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels.

Stakeholders

Business community, public sector, civil society organizations and academia.

Activities

Creation of 3 practical guides, part of the “Ethics and Integrity Collection”, to support small and medium-sized enterprises in implementing a Code of Ethics and Conduct, a Whistleblowing Channel, and a Plan for Preventing Corruption Risks and Related Offenses (September 2024). These elements are required by law for all companies with more than 50 employees, under the new Portuguese Anticorruption Strategy.

Development of an e-learning course on Anticorruption and Integrity (December 2025) with the national anti-corruption government agency (MENAC).

Development of the Integrity Kit, to mark International Anti-Corruption Day (2024), consisting of 1 media card and an anti-corruption seal, for organizations to reinforce their commitment to integrity.
