Mission
Reduce corruption levels in South Africa
Goals
The goal of this initiative is to reduce corruption levels in South Africa through a business-led demonstration of practical collective action initiatives. The initiative engaged extensively with business and government, held several training sessions targeting businesses amd also including local government. It has generated interest from all sectors and seeks to build on this going forward, to move toward implementation of collective initiatives and models of good practice.
Stakeholders
Beneficiaries of the initiative include: UN Global Compact signatory companies in South Africa; government, as a major client for procurement; small, large and medium sized companies; construction sector companies both large, small and medium; anti-corruption civil society organisations; and academia.
Activities
The activities are focused on creating and disseminating best practices on anti-corruption, and introducing and implementing Integrity Pacts as a model for creating transparency in large procurement projects.
