Koalisi Anti Korupsi Indonesia (KAKI)

Koalisi Anti-Korupsi Indonesia (KAKI- Indonesian Collective Action against Corruption), established in 2020 is a pioneering initiative dedicated to fostering integrity and transparency in the private sector. As a multi-stakeholder platform, KAKI enables businesses to collaboratively develop, implement, and advocate for robust anti-corruption practices.

KAKI aims to:

  • Raise the compliance standards of private-sector companies
  • Develop a critical mass of companies dedicated to clean and transparent business practices
  • With government, co-create change in public services to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability

Operating under the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD) with technical support by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), KAKI mobilises Indonesia’s private sector through a structured two-stage commitment process: KAKI Declared and KAKI Certified. By signing the KAKI Declaration of Intent, companies publicly commit to a zero-tolerance approach to corruption. Those seeking certification undergo a rigorous self-assessment based on a comprehensive 75-item checklist.

KAKI’s impact extends beyond its 16 corporate members, which represent key industries such as energy, mining, automotive, and tourism. The initiative actively raises awareness through forums, including discussions on beneficial ownership transparency, technology for anti-corruption, and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF). These engagements provide a platform for businesses to share the best practices and influence regulatory frameworks.

KAKI is also engaged in Indonesia’s OECD accession process, advocating for private-sector involvement in shaping governance reforms. As part of the OECD Collective Action Initiative, alongside the Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN) and Transparency International Indonesia (TII), KAKI is ensuring that businesses have a voice in the country’s governance evolution. KAKI has also collaborated with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), and the Open Government Indonesia Community to further institutionalise transparency and corporate accountability.
