The MACN collective action initiative in India focuses on building capacity and fostering a culture of integrity across the maritime value chain, in key public sector port agencies and in maritime training instutions in India. MACN built momentum in India and launched a “Say No” campaign in 2019 which aimed at reducing bottlenecks in trade and integrity challenges in Indian ports.

MACN has expanded its scope of work in India with new funding received from the Siemens Integrity Initiative in 2021 to establish a local collective action alliance that will deploy MACN’s collective action tools and methodology.

Together with the Indian National Shipowners Association (INSA) and the UN Global Compact in India, MACN has started to build capacity, public-private partnerships, and dialogue. MACN aims to establish a working Help Desk in India to support members when vessels are faced with challenges.
