Red Para la Formación Ética y Ciudadana (REDÉTICA)

Colombian Chair on Citizenship, Integrity and Anti-Corruption

Mission

Promote and develop transparency and ethics in all its dimensions in Colombia

Goals

The Colombian Chair on Citizenship, Integrity and Anti-Corruption (Cátedra Colombiana Ciudadanía, integridad y lucha contra la corrupción), is a Collective Action initiative offering a 16-week training space featuring general academic sessions and tutorials. The sessions aim to create materials for building citizenship and integrity across diverse social realms.

Stakeholders

The initiative is spearheaded by Red Para la Formación Ética y Ciudadana (REDÉTICA) in partnership with the National University of Colombia. The initiative engages with stakeholders from the private and public sectors as well as nine organisations from academia and civil society. With over six thousand direct participants,it attracts numerous experts from Latin America and Europe.

REDÉTICA is a participant in the Basel Institute's Collective Action Mentoring Programme.

Activities

REDÉTICA implements mentoring spaces, which among other things, have allowed the design of Collective Action initiatives. The 16-week programme also provides spaces for reflection and learning, focusing on cultivating integrity, business transparency, professional ethics, and citizen oversight of public affairs.

For instance, the collaboration with the National Institute for Research and Prevention of Fraud (INIF) involves developing new Collective Action initiatives for the insurance sector in Colombia. REDÉTICA has also been working with the Institute for Fraud Prevention in the design and implementation of an Integrity project initially for the insurance sector in Colombia, leading to the adoption of an integrity seal and subsequently to the implementation of an anti-corruption certification.
